So far, ALL of the work done to bring The Making Place to life has been through volunteering. Help us build and deliver affordable creative resources for our community!

December MOTM Workshop Aid

Show up an hour to 30 minutes early and staying late to help our event hosts set-up and break-down. Pass out event feedback slips and speaking on behalf of TMP at the end of an event to share our current calls to action.

2-4 hours a week (regular weekly task deadlines)

Social Media Manager

Description: Work with our marketing planner to create content for facebook and instagram. Post 2+ times a week. This could include reels, photo and graphic posts, stories, writing captions.

Skills: Familiarity with canvas or willingness to learn, video editing, photo editing, graphic design, organized, time management

1-2 hours a week (regular weekly task deadline)

Email Campaign Coordinator

Description: Work with our marketing planner to create emails using MailerLite for our weekly email campaigns.

Skills: writing and grammar, MailerLite or other email marketing softwares, design sense, time management

5-10 hours a month (irregular task deadlines throughout the month)

Event Planning Assistant

Description: Work with our event coordinator to help organize, plan and facilitate our events. This could include corresponding with event hosts, using spreadsheets, sourcing materials and supplies.

Skills: Outgoing, friendly and professional communicator, time management, self starter, familiarity with google sheets

3-10 hours a month (semi-irregular schedule depending on event(s))

Event Support

Description: Show up to our events/ workshops an hour to 30 minutes early and staying late to help our event hosts set-up and break-down. Passing out event feedback slips and speaking on behalf of TMP at the end of an event to share our current calls to action.

Skills: Outgoing, friendly and professional communicator, represent TMP mission/ vision/ values, organizational/ cleaning

Tool Library Inventory Assistant

Description: Work with our Operations Lead to help sort, photograph and inventory new tool library donations.

Skills: basic dslr camera knowledge and ability, google sheets/ excel experience, knowledge of tools

1-2 hours weekly (flexible, self scheduled)

Workspace Organizer/ Task Doer

Description: Work with our operations lead to keep the space organized, putting away tools & supplies and tackling to-do list items.

Skills: organized, knowledge of tools & supplies

8-10 hours a month (flexible, self scheduled monthly task deadlines)

Poster Designer & Canvaser

Description: Work with our marketing planner to create, print and canvass, flyers, posters and quarter sheets for our events.

Skills: Familiarity with canva or access to adobe creative softwares, graphic design

Blog Writer

Description: Work with our marketing planner to create blog posts using wix website software.

Skills: writing and grammar

10 hours a month (flexible, self scheduled monthly tasks)

Online Resource Facilitator

Description: Sources content for our online resources through networking and connecting with local artists, creative focused businesses, organizations and collectives.
Finding local creative opportunities for our opportunity and open call board.
Connecting with creative businesses and orgs to be included on our local directory and encouraging them to utilize our opportunity board.
Connecting with local artists and makers, teaching them how to use our artists & maker directory and encouraging them to add themselves and grow the database.
Creating email campaigns for our opportunity board and forwarding information to our social media manager for content creation.

Skills: Outgoing, friendly and professional communicator, represent our mission/ vision values, use the backend of our wix website software (similar to simple google sheets or excel), self starter, willingness to attend in-person creative functions for networking.
