Expressive Landscape Sketching Workshop

In this workshop Artist Sydney Boveng will walk you through her process for creating expressive and playful plein air landscape sketches. Many people find drawing a scene outdoors intimidating and her goal is to help you break down some of the most common barriers people face when drawing outside. You'll practice identifying and capturing your favorite elements of a scene, letting go of perfection, and exploring your own unique visual language. The sketchbook is all about joy and presence in the moment. In this workshop, you will be given a chance to set aside your notions of what a drawing should look like, and indulge in how good it can feel.

This workshop might be for you if: 

- You keep a sketchbook and want to expand your practice 

- You've always wanted to draw landscapes but have found it intimidating 

- You find your drawings a bit tight and struggle to loosen up and have fun 

- You took my intro sketchbook workshop through the library and you're ready to level up your practice!

Class Requirements and Guidelines:

This class is for adults 18 and up, and will be limited to just 6 participants.

You will need to provide most of your own materials, though Syndey will have a few things to share. She is happy to provide a small list of her favorite inexpensive sketching supplies if you'd like to stock up on your own materials.
