About the event
Join D.J. Zor for a hands-on discussion and demonstration of staked furniture, a timeless construction method with roots dating back to at least 1400 BCE.
Together you’ll explore the principles and refinements of this form through the centuries, comparing example pieces and looking at how it can still fit beautifully into the modern home. D.J. will demonstrate techniques using everything from traditional hand tools to power tools while creating a simple three-legged milking stool, and will also share examples of chairs and other pieces that show how this simple, sturdy, and stylish method has endured for thousands of years.
There will be a soup/stew break half way through, enjoy some homemade comfort food as DJ dives into the demo. *Please include dietary restrictions in your registration.
