Grand Opening

The Making Place team is beyond excited to announce that The Making Place will open its doors to The Flathead Valley next month on June 1st!!

This grand opening will mark a year and a half of hard work and community effort behind our main goal- to open a makerspace. Come June 1st, The Making Place will open a makerspace on the third floor of Uptown Hearth. Thanks to Uptown’s generosity and strong community support, The Making Place is excited to offer an amazing, accessible resource for the creative community.

If you're new to The Making Place... A makerspace is a place where people can gather to work on projects while sharing equipment, ideas and knowledge. Similar to gyms, makerspaces foster community engagement through shared resources. The Making Place aims to create a public space for the community to create, share and learn together by providing three main services: workshops & classes, a tool library and a communal workspace.

Our communal workspace will include work tables, easels, a wash station, small handheld tools and larger stationary tools for printmaking, sewing, 3d printing and more.

Preview The Making Place and celebrate with us at our Open House event on Friday, May 16th from 4-8pm at 619 Nucleus Ave in Columbia Falls.
