Introducing Our 2026 Year-End Campaign: Make More Possible

When creativity thrives, community flourishes.

As 2026 begins to wind down, we're taking a moment to reflect on everything we've made possible together at The Making Place. And more than anything, we're feeling grateful.

Grateful for the artists and educators who share their knowledge. For the volunteers who give their time. For the local businesses who believe in what we're building. And for every person who has walked through our doors to learn something new, try something unfamiliar, share a skill, or simply find a place to belong.

The Making Place is what it is because of you.

A Year of Learning, Creating, and Connecting

This year has been one of growth, experimentation, and meaningful progress.

We've welcomed our community through hands-on workshops, Maker of the Month classes, creative gatherings, and free community craft nights.

We've created opportunities for local artists and educators to share their skills, brought neighbors together through community events like Harvest Moon Fest and Stories Under the Strawberry Moon, and continued building a space where creativity is accessible, welcoming, and collaborative.

Behind the scenes, we've also taken important steps toward a more sustainable future, including bringing on our first contracted staff member and a bookkeeper to help support our growing organization.

Every workshop, every new connection, and every shared creative experience reminds us why this work matters.

We're proud of what we've accomplished in 2026, and we know there's so much more we can do.

Let's Make More Possible in 2027

This November, we're launching our year-end fundraising campaign, Make More Possible, with a goal of raising $30,000 to support the next chapter of The Making Place.

In 2027, we're focusing on three important priorities:

• More creative opportunities: Expanding our workshops and educational programming while creating more paid teaching opportunities for local artists, makers, and educators.

• Greater community access: Establishing a scholarship fund to help remove financial barriers to classes, memberships, and creative experiences.

• A sustainable future: Supporting the people and resources that keep The Making Place running, so we can continue serving our community for years to come.

Whether you make a year-end donation, become a 2027 Community Partner, volunteer your time, attend a workshop, or simply share our story, you're helping make more possible.

November 28 | Handmade Holiday Sale with Persimmons Gallery

Join us for a celebration of handmade goods and local creativity! We're excited to partner with Persimmons Gallery for a holiday shopping experience featuring the work of talented local makers and artists.

It's a wonderful opportunity to find thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting the creative people in our community.

December 6 | The Making Place Holiday Open House

Come celebrate the season with us at The Making Place!

We'll be opening our doors for a festive community gathering filled with creative activities, holiday treats, a raffle, and opportunities to connect with fellow makers and neighbors.

Whether you're a longtime member or have been curious about The Making Place, we'd love to welcome you in, share what we've been working on, and celebrate another year of creativity together.

As we look toward 2027, we're reminded that the most meaningful things we've made this year aren't always the things we can hold in our hands.

They're the friendships formed around a workshop table. The confidence that comes from learning a new skill. The opportunities created for local artists. And the feeling of belonging to a community that values creativity and connection.

These are the things worth sustaining. These are the things we want to make possible for more people.
